Two Wheel Centre’s annual charity ride out was a huge success, and we’ve raised more money for the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance than ever before – well done everyone!

After the huge success of last year’s charity ride out, we had our fingers crossed that we could do even better this year! All of our staff and supporters rose to the challenge to make this year our best charity ride out ever. With a bit of good luck with the weather and many hours of hard work to promote and set up the event, we were blown away by how many bikers turned out to support the Air Ambulance this year: by the time everyone had arrived, a grand total of 253 bikers filled our car park here at Two Wheel Centre on Sunday 17th May. It’s safe to say that we were full to bursting, and so were our neighbours Spot On over the road – special thanks to them for letting us use their car park.

Also in attendance was Taz Taylor, a young local racer sponsored by us here at Two Wheel Centre, who currently competes in the HEL Performance Motostar British Championship. Taz Taylor recently graced the top of the podium and it’s always a pleasure to have him with us – especially as Taz and his team donated BSB tickets for our charity raffle. Miss Mansfield also made an appearance at our charity ride out to show her support for the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance. Taz Taylor and his team said: “Taz Taylor Racing were proud to support the Notts and Lincs Air Ambulance today at the Two Wheel Centre ride out. It was great to meet Miss Mansfield, Jessica Boot and Miss Mansfield Outstanding Teen, Ellie Rose Walker, also giving their support.” Thanks to Taz, Miss Mansfield – and Superman and Batman, who turned up to support their fellow life-savers!

Our team here at Two Wheel Centre provided breakfast and a good cuppa for all those hungry people before the ride out commenced, and what a spectacle it was seeing all those bikes setting off together. After some essential marshalling and traffic-stopping, everyone left in a roar of engines at 10.10AM (only 10 minutes off schedule), stomachs full and ready for the trip to Willingham Woods in the sunshine. The route went via Gainsborough and Market Rasen, stopping off at Willingham Woods for a drink and a bite to eat before returning to Two Wheel Centre via Lincoln, Newark and Ollerton. The first riders arrived back from 2pm, where a tasty BBQ and drinks awaited them.
We then had our charity raffle, which included over £2000 worth of prizes kindly donated by several businesses, including everything from a HJC IS-17 helmet to BSB tickets. The lucky winners were called out in front of the huge crowd and one lucky biker even got the chance to win a trip to present our cheque to the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance team, along with some of our staff. We can’t wait to ride out again to hand over all the money raised, and we couldn’t have done it without all of you who shared, attended and supported the event. So, how much did we raise this year?

Drum roll please…
The grand total we have raised this year to support the life-saving work of the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance charity is…
£3620.66, beating last year’s total by an impressive £958.01!
A massive thank you from all of us here at Two Wheel Centre, to all those who donated, helped and supported us to raise this fantastic figure. We couldn’t be happier, and we hope that you will all join us next year for another great charity ride out!
