Lincolnshire and Notts Air Ambulance motorbike ride for charity, Sunday 17th May – save the date!

As the summer’s drawing near, so is May 17th, the date of the Two Wheel Centre annual motorbike ride for charity! For new riders or old, local or coming from afar, everyone’s welcome. lincs-and-notts-chq-handover We’re hoping this year will see even more than the 215 bikes (260 riders including pillion) that cruised from the Two Wheel Centre in Mansfield Woodhouse; through luscious Lincolnshire countryside, historical Gainsborough and sleepy Retford, to arrive at the wonderful Willingham Woods back in 2014. Check out last year’s video here (The route for this year hasn’t been confirmed but we’re looking to do something similar.)

This is a wonderful opportunity to ride with your local biker community, but even more wonderful is the cause we’re supporting. A Two Wheel family member has had her life saved by LNAACT: we know first-hand how crucial their service is. A service that saves lots of lives in Notts and Lincs where the rural roads can make it tricky for road ambulances to arrive at an accident within the Golden Hour. LNAACT can arrive at any location, within the 2 counties, in 20 minutes. Their mission count so far totals a staggering 16,111. However, to sustain this service they need to raise an annual sum of £1.9million.

That’s where we come in. Last year we raised an unexpected £2662.65, a £1100 increase on 2013 – think we can hike it up by the same this year?

The day will be bursting with food, fun and even local British Motostar Champion, Taz Taylor.

What do you need to know?

Registration is £5 (all proceeds go to LNAACT)
The day begins around 9am
We will be serving breakfast butties and finishing the run with burgers!
The showroom and clothing department will be open for business
The ride out begins at Two Wheel Centre, heads to Willingham Woods and circles back round to Two Wheel

What will the day’s schedule look like?

9:00 am: Meet at Two Wheel Centre for bacon/egg sandwiches and cups of tea/coffee
10:00 am Ride out begins
1:00 pm Charity raffle drawn at Two Wheel Centre, alongside more good food and drink!

Where are we going?

Riding to Willingham Woods via Retford, Gainsborough, Market Rasen, returning to TWC via Lincoln, Newark and Ollerton. Maps will be available on the day and the ride will be marshalled

Details of the charity raffle are now live! We have had many prizes generously donated for the event, and expect more to be added as we get nearer to the day – tickets can be bought in-store or online, more information and details will be released in the weeks coming up to the event, so please check back!
