Three local brothers have pulled together to build an American-style custom Chopper motorcycle, which they will donate to auction to raise funds for charity.
Simon Turley, his twin brothers Andrew and David, and a close friend Jem Doward (known collectively as the Ironside Choppers) put hours of work into building the machine, which they hope will auction off for around £25,000. The funds will be donated to the Richard Burns Foundation, in memory of the British World Rally Champion who died in 2005 at the early age of 34 from a brain tumour.
The three brothers, all from the Nottinghamshire area, plan to auction the bike early next year. But there are a few finishing touches to be added yet to the ‘Richard Burns Tribute Bike’, including lacquered signatures of Richard’s father and other key people who helped the Champion through his successful but short career.
