A story from Scotland today, and if it works, one that may follow suit down into the UK.
Special maps are now available free to motorcyclists in the popular northern roads of Perth and Kinross – an area in Tayside, which has seen 6 bikers killed and 42 seriously injured in the last year.
The maps give information on potential known road hazards, petrol stations, places safe to stop and speed cameras, alongside information on how to ride safely and additional biker training courses. The most popular roads, both over 100 miles each, are included in the maps which were produced by the local fire and council authorities and police.
The hope is that these maps will encourage bikers to take caution along the whole of these roads, but especially around the most dangerous spots.
