Supermarket giant Sainsburys has today put in place a new policy to prevent petty parking problems, using staff on motorcyclists.
In a recent survey held by the supermarket, illegal parking in disability or parent/child parking spaces was discovered to be a rather large problem, with 9 out of 10 parents saying they regularly experienced cars parked in the bays for convenience, rather than necessity.
Sainsburys have not taken this discovery lightly, and have hit back by putting into force fleets of motorcyclists who are going to monitor, govern and even fine people £50 if they unlawfully park in these specialist spots.
So, be prepared. From today, zipping around Sainsburys car parks are be motorbikes ready and waiting to pounce. So what will it be – a £50 fine or just another 100 yards to walk?
