The Shoei X-Spirit II is here.
The original Shoei X-Spirit was arguably the premier motorcycle lid of it’s time, and remained untouched been throughout its entire 2 year reign.
Things change though, and now the new Shoei X-Spirit II is due to take the throne from it’s predecessor this November. So far, information on the new release has been pretty limited, but we have managed to get our hands on some technical info about the new and improved design.
The outer shell, which is completely renewed in design for even better aerodynamics, is constructed from AIM + (Advanced Intergrated Matrix). This super lightweight material provides unparalleled rigidity, yet offers superb shock absorbency.
The double D ring fastening system remains a clear favourite with most riders, and thus Shoei have kept this small but important detail in the X-Spirit II.
The E.Q.R.S (Emergency Quick Release System) is also an impressive new addition to the X-Spirit II. A feature only used previously on Shoei riders’ helmets in MotoGP etc, in the event of a crash the cheek liners of the helmet can be fully removed by pulling the release tabs. This means that emergency services can remove the helmet without pulling or straining the rider’s neck, potentially causing more damage.
