Police Seize Stolen Race Bikes at Brands Hatch

Over 150 bikes were inspected at Brands Hatch this weekend, with over 10% of the machines being seized by police for being stolen previously.

As reported in MCN this week, specific police teams, including a police helicopter, rounded the race goers up to give their bikes a compulsory inspection to determine the previous history of the machine.

It soon became apparent to an unfortunate percentage of the racers that their bikes would not be coming home with them that evening, and indeed, neither would the money they have paid for the bike or additional race parts and tuning.

The action taken at Brands Hatch will no doubt send shivers up the spine of racers country wide, who innocently might not have bought their bikes either from a respectable source or with a successful HPI check.

But the seizure sends out a strong message to bike thiefs to tell them that the police are closing in on them.

Stronger still though is the message to buyers that you are responsible for what you buy.

All our used motorcycles for sale are successfully HPI checked to ensure they are genuine machines with no history of theft or accident.
