What Makes A Shoei X-Spirit So Good?

Shoei X-Spirit HelmetThe Shoei X-Spirit is one heck of a helmet. But what technological factors make it better than the competition?

We’ll start with the VENTILATION – it is a hot topic after all. The X-Spirit maintains a fresh air supply via upper and lower inlet vents to the front of the helmet. When the fresh air enters the helmet it travels through a system of channels pushing hot air out via the exhaust vents to the rear of the helmet. This process is repeated, thus a constant flow of air keeps your head cool. Whats more, the X-Spirit visor also has a seperate ventilation system to circulate air and provide perfect visibility.

Whilst we’re on the subject of visors, the standard Shoei VISOR SYSTEM (X-Spirit included) is so fast and easy to change, and comes complete with an anti-fog Pinlock insert. It’s a really good piece of kit – ask anyone who has got one!

The SHAPE of the X-Spirit is technologically advanced too. The Aero Edge Spoiler to the rear was originally designed for racing, reducing drag and life at high speeds. Working in conjuction with the air outlets on the rear of the helmet, this spoiler prevents a vacuum developing behind the helmet which can cause buffering and neck fatigue.

The COMPOSITION of the helmet is one of AIM and carbon, which provides unrivalled strength, rigidity and shock-absorbency. It’s lightweight too – the whole helmet weighs in at only 1330g*.

As for COMFORT, you don’t get much better than what the X-Spirit has to offer. With a modular EPS liner system, comprising foams of three different shock-absorbing levels, there is optimium comfort and protection combined. Moreover, the fully removable cheek pads can be sheared down to allow a perfect fit to your face. Lovely!

All these small yet marked techonolgical advancements are what makes the X-Spirit streets ahead of the competition, and together they are the reason why you should make an X-Spirit your next lid.
