We’ve long supported Taz Taylor, and rightly so, because he is one absolute champion in the making. Rossi, watch your back.
The local 11 year old has amassed countless wins this year, and has now deservedly taken home the Championship title in not only the National Pocketbike Series but also the British Conti Cup.
Amazing, but even more amazing when you consider this was his first year in both championships.
Admittedly, there is one round remaining at Llyd in Dover, but given his victories Taz has officially secured his grasp on the title.
His last race to secure the title wasn’t easy though. Taz high sided in the practice session, but got pole position nevertheless. He then proceeded to lead throughout the first race until his bike suffered technical problems which caused him to finish in 2nd place (“That was my mistake, blame the mechanic!” says Taz’s dad, Shane). But after a bit of attention, Taz and his bike got back up to winning form for the second and third races, where Taz took 1st place.
Taz is also looking good to take home the British FAB Racing championship, though Shane is ever modest about his chances.
You never know what can happen. Just last week one of his closest competitors fell off and broke his wrist, so I don’t want to speak too soon!
The next round of the FAB Racing championship is at Rowrah, and we’ll be sure to keep you informed.
