The AGV Corsa Valentino Rossi 2013 Winter Test Helmet is an extremely limited edition helmet. It is available by pre-order only, for delivery in April 2013.
Valentino has had a troublesome time over the last couple of years.
His much anticipated and greatly over-estimated move to the Ducati ranks proved to be one of his worst (and most unsuccessful) career moves yet.
But, as they say, things can only get better. Having now secured his move back to the unstoppable Yamaha garage (which will, in itself, come with some potentially dramatic teammate antics), Rossi’s 2013 GP season looks set for more success.
That said, having now seen that The Doctor is only human, and that he can’t perform the miracles needed to win on the unruly Ducati, it will prove particularly interesting to see whether it is he, or his reigning Yamaha teammate, Lorenzo, who takes the chequered flag next season.
Either way, this is potentially set to be the most exciting MotoGP season of recent years!
The AGV Corsa Rossi Winter Test Helmet is the perfect welcome home for Rossi as he returns to the Yamaha garage.
This helmet replicates the one worn by The Doctor at the Valencia winter test sessions late in 2012, when he sat astride his prized M1 for the first time since his ill-chosen move to Ducati two years ago.
The M1 was adorned with customised grey/black livery, combined with the unmistakeable fluorescent yellow Rossi touches. Needless to say, the same colour scheme graced his Dainese D-air® Racing suit and AGV helmet.
Apart from his usual Sun and Moon graphics, Valentino also chose to have an ideogram for the Japanese word “Kando” on the back of his Pista GP helmet.
This word is used to indicate an intense emotion, such as that felt when seeing something exclusive, deeply satisfying and intensely exciting.
The word was first used by Masao Furusawa when Valentino arrived at Yamaha in 2004 and the version seen on the helmet was designed by Masao’s wife.
