AGV K3 Helmets for Autumn riding? Fancy a Guy Martin Replica?

Are you after an AGV this Autumn?

Though the ground is littered with leaves the temperature is still steady for setting off on your bike. If you’re planning an adventure, racing or on your daily commute, how about planning, competing or commuting with a Guy Martin replica helmet?

Six months back these helmets were new to our selection. If you ever catch a glimpse of Martin on the move, you may see pink and blue colours swirling around the track, complete with warning-you-away skull and cross bones. This is his signature helmet.

AGV K3 Helmets side viewThe helmet may suggest so but Guy’s no pirate. However, this eerie addition to the helmet does give off a warning sign – the rider is serious – or perhaps he loves whimsical ways of showing off his favourite colours. Either way, it’s worked well for Martin – even saving his noggin in a recent crash – “I wouldn’t have wanted to be wearing anything other than my AGV.”

The higher spec’ Guy Martin replica helmet we have in store is the K3 SV (sun visor) in blue and pink, and with a few less features, the yellow. AGV created these replicas to mimic Martin’s unique taste. Of course, this is just the paintwork, it’s the substance that provides you with safety…

What technical features do the AGV A3 Helmets have?

The safety rating of both helmets is 4* SHARP. SHARP (the Safety Helmet Assessment and Rating Programme) have now tested 368 helmets offering independent and objective ratings for motorcyclists. The minimum score they will dish out is 1, the maximum, 5. This sits the helmet quite far along the scale, providing a strong SHARP safety rating. This is further supported by the ECE (Economic Community of Europe) 22.05 stamp of approval, a government requirement for lids in the UK. If you’re interested in racing the ACU Gold sticker approves it for this.

The front and rear of both helmets have vents fitted, four for the front of the K3 SV (three for the K3), two (one for the K3) at the rear of the K3 SV. These allow for a consistent flow of air to enter the front (at your chin and forehead), cool your head down, and draw out of the rear. This is welcome on warmer days.

Pull down the polycarbonate outer visor when you need it. The outer visor is anti-scratch, anti-fog – leaving your vision clear. Held on with a petri-metric visor seal, there’ll be less draught and reduced wind noise. This has an element of UV protection, but on the blue and pink AGV K3 SV Helmet, there’s a smoked inner visor – see you later sunglasses. Pull this down on a bright day.

With a HIR-TH (High Resistance Thermoplastic Resin) outer shell, these AGV K3 Helmets are light and protective. This covers the EPS inner shell which will absorb impact in a fall.

Guy’s #1 fan left feedback on our site, “Thanks for a super fast delivery of a helmet I thought was going to be imposible to eventually find in my size..love it…”

Kev S also left a positive comment, “so glad I got my mitts on one of these. Great price for a race replica lid – manufacturers usually rip you off for a race rep but this is ace. Good technical features and the sunvisor does the trick every time. Never thought hot pink would be my thing, but i’m making excuses to ride through town with this on.”

Where can I sneak an AGV K3 Helmets peek?

The yellow and black or blue and pink AGV K3 Helmets are online, or in our store.

We also wish Guy lots of well wishes after his fall in August.
