We’ve been blown away by the INCREDIBLE value for money that HJC offers, so much so that our stockholding of the helmets has increased exponentially. We have also focused heavily on HJC of our first collection of product video reviews (see below).
The range is headed up by the unbeatable HJC RPHA 10+, a fully fledged race helmet which is phenomenally lightweight. With a Premium Integrated Matrix shell (that combines fibres which are as lightweight as they are strong), the RPHA 10+ weighs in at just 1250g in a size medium. That’s some 200g lighter than Shoei’s X-Spirit 2. Quite remarkable. The aerodynamics are masterful, as is the ventilation; this is certainly the result of HJC’s use of their own wind tunnel in the design and refinement of the RPHA 10+.
Overall, it is a seriously high-spec race helmet; a helmet born on – and born to be on – the racetrack.
The RPHA 10+’s road-going counterpart is the HJC RPHA ST. Where the RPHA 10+ excels on the track, the RPHA ST really does dress to impress on the road. Also designed and refined in HJC’s wind tunnel, everything about the RPHA ST has been angled towards the slightly more upright riding position of the sport-touring motorcyclist. It remains incredibly lightweight despite the addition of a sun visor. Also, ventilation is key, and the RPHA ST pulls buckets of air through its inbuilt air channels to keep your head cool, wherever and whenever you’re riding.
Comfort is also second to none, with a comprehensive, fully removable and washable 3D contoured liner. In fact, the RPHA ST is so impressive that it is the helmet of choice for our Chief Instructor in the Two Wheel Motorcycle Training School.
The HJC range is also bolstered by a strong full face helmet contingent, including the likes of the HJC FG17 and IS-17. Both incredibly popular helmets in their own right, the IS-17 and FG17 take all the most important features of the higher specification helmets and combine them into an everyday lid which can turn its “hand” equally to commuting or sports riding. There are also some really eye-catching designs for 2014, with stock now ready and available to order.
As a special TWC offer, we are also offering the HJC FG17 with a free road legal tinted visor.
Open face helmets are also well covered, with no fewer than three options including the top-end HJC RPHA Jet. Prefer a flip front? Don’t worry – there are three more options to choose from there, too, including the super lightweight RPHA Max Evo, which is Bluetooth ready and comes with a drop down inner sun visor.
So, as you’ve hopefully gathered, the range of HJC helmets for 2014 is really strong, with every option well covered. We’re stocking a massive range of HJC helmets this season, so swing by and try a few on. Our expert staff are on hand to answer your questions and find the right HJC for you.
