“Fat Face” Motorcycle Advert Banned

Fat Face Motorcycle CampaignHealth and safety gone crazy, or just sensible measures?

We’ll leave it for you to decide…

Fashion clothing brand ‘Fat Face’ are currently in the midst of a scuffle regarding an advertising campaign which features their models riding motorcyclists without helmets.

The Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) report receiving complaints about the Fast Face catalogue featuring pictures of models on moving motorcycles, wearing neither protective clothing or helmets. Fat Face responded saying:

did not condone illegal activity, but did support the freedom of an individual to make choices where it was legal for them to do so, including some jurisdictions concerning the freedom to choose whether or not to wear a helmet on a motorcycle.

Nevertheless, the ASA ruled that Fat Face were not to use these photographs again.
