Track Record: Raced Youth Motor Sport Association (YMSA) Championship. Took 2nd place in the Stevenage Schoolboy Scrambling Club (SSSC) 2006 and 3rd in the UK Supernational 2006.
Taz Taylor is a champion in the making.
A determined chap, Taz first rode a motorcycle when he was just 3 years old and since that day he has been the lucky owner of 10 bikes – his favourite being his 2nd KX65. At 6 years old, Taz entered his first race on his tiny PW50 in the YMSA series, but unfortunately he only managed one lap. However, he kept up the hard work and came back with a bang in 2006 when he took 2nd place in the SSSC Championship and 2nd place in the YMSA Championship. He also went on to win 3rd place in the UK Supernational, despite a mid air collision in the first race which left him with a cracked nose and two black eyes. He finished the race with a concussion and has no memory of crossing the finish line. But his determination paid off and he now has a track record that most grown men would be proud of!
But bad luck grabs us all at some point, and during a later race Taz came off his bike and broke his leg badly. After months on crutches and surgery to insert plates into his injured leg, Taz bravely got back into the swing of his racing.
This time taking to road racing, Taz now rides a Conti V3 50 – and he is flying! He is on track to enter the Conti cup this year, and is just packing his suitcases to do a week of pre-season testing in Spain. We wish Taz the best of luck with his testing, and will bring regular updates and pictures from all of his progress.
