Shoei Neotec 2: Flip front finesse with Shoei’s signature style.

Shoei Neotec 2 Metallic BlueReturning to 2018 in style, Shoei unveil their latest creation for the flip front market. Based on their currently successful Neotec flip front lid, Shoei have taken the Neotec and set about making improvements to provide users with the perfect flip front helmet. Ladies and gentlemen; the Shoei Neotec 2!

At home in your helmet

Shoei are well known for comfort with their helmets and we’re pleased to say that the Neotec 2 is no exception to the rule. The AIM construction of the shell in three different sizes makes for a helmet that is comfortable and secure but also lightweight. This makes for the ideal touring helmet with limited neck fatigue. The improvements in the shell come from the newly designed chin bar. Aerodynamically tested, the Neotec 2 boasts better aerodynamic properties making for less wind resistance. The integrated vortex generator and rear spoiler keeps the Neotec 2 firmly planted on your head.

A loud lid?

One reported problem with modular helmets is that they can be noisy. This is due to the helmet being constructed as two different pieces. Shoei have redesigned the cheek pads for the Neotec 2 and included a “noise isolator” in order to limit the noisy experience that can be felt when riding in modular helmets. Having designed this helmet in a wind tunnel, we believe Shoei when they say that the Neotec 2 is quieter than its predecessor.

Shoei’s redesigning of the Neotec 2 also involved the approving of their flip front helmet being ridden in the open face position. The Neotec 2 is now dual homologated (also known as P/J homologated). This means hat the helmet can be legally ridden as a both an open face helmet and a full-face helmet.
To lock the Neotec into the full upright position, open the helmet using the button in the chin bar and push the helmet into the upright position. You will feel a ‘clunk’ as it slides into the upright position. That’s all there is to it. No messing around with buttons to press or other methods of securing the helmet in the upright position. Safety and simplicity from Shoei; we expect nothing less.

“I can see clearly now…”

The Neotec 2 also boasts a redesigned visor shape. Completely new, the visor aims to improve visibility with little distortion from curvature of the visor. The CNS-3 visor has been created to perfectly fit the Neotec 2 for a supreme seal. This helps with keeping out air and moisture when riding in the wet. The visor is also Pinlock ready to help shield against misting on the visor that occurs when the weather drops cold. The Neotec 2 includes a variable drop down QVS-1 sun-visor for visual protection against the sun, making sure your vision is not obscured by the sun bright light.

Shoei are also claiming dramatically increased airflow with the Neotec 2; designed in a wind tunnel, multiple inlets at the front of the helmet and two in the rear make for a helmet with plenty of air circulation potential. Securing this masterful helmet to your head is a stainless steel micro-ratchet system for improved durability and security.

It’s always a challenge to take something great and make it better. It seems Shoei have pulled this feat off with the Neotec 2. You can view the full range of Neotec 2 helmets on our website. These helmets are available early January 2018; don’t miss out on your new Neotec 2. Pre-order yours now!
