Local racer Taryn Taylor‘s season has come to an abrupt, premature end after suffering a broken leg during qualifiers last weekend.
Racing at Llandown in Wales, Taz was setting his usual blistering pace in the qualifiers when he leant into a bend and came face to face with a weighted traffic cone left over from the previous car racing rounds. Taz knocked the cone, only for the weighted base of the cone to flick up and make a clean break in his lower leg.
Taz’s dad said his son still managed to finish his lap (with a broken leg!) and came into the pits with all but a tear in his eye saying “I’ve broken my leg…”. Taz would know the feeling well after breaking the femur of his right leg just a couple of years earlier in a moto-x race.
Having already taken 2 championships this year, the only championship left for Taz to conquer this year was the FAB Racing title. However, he now has to surrender his 100 point lead to other competitiors in the only two remaining rounds which, once again unlucky for Taz, are double point rounds, meaning his lead will dimish quickly leaving him with 2nd or 3th place in the championship standings.
