Two Wheel Centre’s youngest sponsored rider is 11 year old Taz Taylor.
Having already taken two championship titles this year in the National Pocketbike Series and the British Conti Cup, Taz continued to mop up the medals with three more wins at Rowrah this weekend.
Taz’s dad, Shane, was happy to tell us how his son had smashed his lap record at the track by a whole second, but was particularly happy to see his son thinking tactics on the circuit.
He rode really, really well. He usually takes the lead all the way round, but instead of putting himself under the pressure to stay ahead, he just stayed in second, putting the pressure on someone else, until he saw the signal flag for the last lap, then took the lead. For a whole nine laps he just sat waiting in second place, then took the lead when he had to.
Taz’s next outing is in a couple of weeks at Llandown on the long circuit.
