AGV 2017: Take a look at these 5 new AGV helmets!

AGV are spoiling us this year, with no less than FIVE new AGV helmets.

Kitting yourself out for 2017? Looking for a new helmet for commuting, racing or touring? AGV have got you covered with their new range, featuring some old favourites with a new look. This blog is your friendly guide to the five new models.

Remember, you can have a gander at the AGV Helmets 2017 full range on our website. We’ll deliver for free anywhere in the UK, and of course you can expect great customer service.

1. AGV Pista GP-R – The ultimate race helmet

AGV Pista GP-R Rossi Soleluna 2016The Pista GP was one heck of a lid, AGV’s contender for the ultimate race helmet. This year they’ve brought out the big guns again, with a bonanza of MotoGP technology.

What’s new? A Biplano spoiler, metal air vents tested in MotoGP, a denser EPS liner, adjustable density Shalimar interior, and – hold the front page – a nifty racing hydration system.

If you’re a racer looking to follow in Rossi’s footsteps by wearing the exact same helmet, the Pista GP-R is for you. There are a few eye-popping replicas to choose from, including the Rossi Soleluna 2016 (pictured).

2. AGV Corsa-R – The Pista’s younger sibling

Corsa-R new AGV helmetsThe Corsa-R helmet is packed with race technology and made for the track, but with a more rider-friendly (and wallet-friendly) design. This is still aimed at serious sport riders, though – you won’t want to commute in this lid!

The Corsa-R uses a carbon-aramid-fibreglass shell compared to the Pista’s full carbon, and loses the hydration system and metal air vents. It retains a 5mm thick race visor with tear-off posts and a wind-tunnel tested spoiler.

Internally, the Corsa has been completely revamped with denser EPS liner and thicker pads, along with technical Ritmo and Shalimar fabrics. There’s a unique innovation from AGV in there too: a reversible crown pad to adapt to warm or cool conditions.

If you’re a Rossi fan, you’ve got three graphics to choose from, including the smart V46 Matt Black (pictured). There are also tributes to Jack Miller, Pol Espargaro and our very own Guy Martin.

3. AGV Veloce S – A track-ready touring helmet

New AGV helmets Veloce SThis is AGV’s top-of-the-range sport touring helmet. Using the same shell material as the track-focused Corsa-R – and with tear-off posts on the visor – this is clearly a capable helmet for track days and sport riders.

For 2017, the Veloce gets a boost with new premium interiors and an emergency cheek pad removal system (included on all AGV’s race helmets too). A new 190° vision visor follows the design of the Corsa-R and Pista GP-R, with a slightly thinner shield at 3.3mm.

A quieter, denser interior with a simplified design allows you to concentrate on riding, providing more support over long distances. This uses the same Shalimar and Ritmo fabrics as AGV’s race helmets.

The Veloce S comes in several graphics including the Soleluna (pictured), a gorgeous Rossi replica.

4. AGV K5-S – High tech touring

New AGV helmets K5-SBringing down some of the interior design from AGV’s top-flight race helmets, the K5-S is a quality sport touring option. It will take you on longer journeys in any weather – so start planning your summer adventures!

The K5-S features some nifty new ideas, such as open / close exhaust vents. Usually you can tweak the intake vents to suit you, but this helmet lets you close the exhaust vents too, in case of rain or for riding in the tucked position.

AGV have clearly put a lot of effort into fit with the K5-S. The outer shell, EPS liner and the visor all come in different sizes, allowing you to mix and match!

As AGV is the home of Rossi replicas, there is of course a Doctor tribute in the K5-S range. We really like the smart and subtle Thorn 46 (pictured). A lot of graphics from the K5 have been carried over, too.

5. AGV Compact-ST – The versatile flip-front

Compact – the clue’s in the name. The Compact-ST is indeed a streamlined and sharp design which isn’t as clunky as some others on the market. It also has the rare honour of being dual homologated – meaning it’s road legal and ECE 22.05 compliant in both the open and closed positions.

New AGV helmets Compact-STFor 2017 the Compact has been gifted with some new interiors, just like the rest of the new AGV helmets. The Shalimar and Ritmo premium fabrics are there, with a hydrophobic neck roll stopping water seeping into your helmet.

IVS ventilation and a Pinlock anti-fog insert are other generous additions to this everyday open face helmet, showing that AGV care about putting out a quality product.

The Compact-ST comes in a limited range of graphics, with the Compact-ST Course (pictured) standing out with its bright yellow colour. That’s bound to get you noticed by other traffic – helpful for commuting.
