Two Wheel Centre are massive supporters of the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance Charitable Trust (LNAACT). It is a cause which lies very close to our heart, and of course to the hearts of most bikers.
Make sure you hear about our next charity motorbike ride out…

So, when we held our second charity motorbike ride out in aid of LNAACT on Sunday 18th May 2014, we expected a few bikers to turn up. But, with a bit of promotion on our Facebook and Twitter pages, a helpful article placed in MCN Local, and a dash of good luck from Mother Nature (who kindly sent us a heat wave), the event was MASSIVE (see pictures here).
We had advertised the ride to leave at 10am, but by 9:20am our car park was already full with over 100 bikes lined up ready to go. In other words, it took us about 20 minutes to break last year’s record…
Luckily, we had anticipated that parking space might be a bit tight and so we used the parking of Spot On Snooker Club which is just opposite our premises. Their car park quickly filled up too, and with a total number of bikes calculated at 215 (a total of 260 bikers, including pillions), TWC was officially heaving with bikers!
The ride left at 10am (and what a sight that was – watch the video here or below!) in the direction of Retford, Gainsborough and Market Rasen. Marshals kept the ride together, guiding people at junctions and roundabouts, with the back marker, Steve Cottam, making sure no one got left behind. After a drink at Willingham Woods, the ride returned back to TWC via Lincoln and Newark, arriving a little later than planned at around 2pm.
The charity raffle then commenced, and with some awesome prizes from our supportive suppliers, friends and customers, we raffled 40 prizes worth over £2000 to the lucky winners.
Throughout the day, food was expertly provided by the TWC team. Bacon sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, tea, coffee and drinks – all proceeds to charity of course.
So, all in all, the day was a huge success. Together, we raised a grand total of £2662.65, beating last year’s total (£1554.18) by over £1100!
A week later we delivered the cheque by hand to the Air Ambulance. The Ambulance operates from RAF Waddington, so in the pouring rain (heatwave now long gone, replaced by a typical British summertime), we took to two wheels to deliver the cheque and get some photos with the life-saving helicopter itself. Riding down the runway to the Air Ambulance was an especial highlight!
So, there you have it. With some good weather, a bit of promotion, a great cause to support, and some incredibly generous bikers, we raised a huge amount of cash for this crucial charity. Thanks to everyone who got involved and supported the event!
