Chris Vermeulen Signs For 2010 Kawasaki WSB

Australian racer Chris Vermeulen has officially signed for the Kawasaki World Superbikes team for the 2010 season.

Vermeulen (who is a big fan of the Draggin Jeans Bikers) is one of the few riders to have raced and won in both MotoGP and World Superbikes. His return to the WSB will stir up plenty of excitement, especially as Kawasaki have assured Vermeulen that they will be ploughing resources into winning the Championship. He said:

That’s what I want, to challenge and to win races…I’m very happy and excited about this. There are so many limits on testing in MotoGP now that sometimes you have to wait so long you feel that you can forget what riding a motorcycle is! The provisional test schedule has around six or seven tests on it… I love racing and riding and that was another attraction about coming back to race in WSB.

Chris’ record in the WSB championship is an enviable one. He has amassed 23 podium finishes, including 10 wins, from only 45 starts.

It seems the WSB 2010 will be a captivating season, now that Vermeulen, alongside previous WSB James Toseland, and both set to return to the ranks.
