RST Clothing 2016: Ready to redo your motorcycle wardrobe?

Riding in RST Clothing

In regular RST Clothing style the popular brand have once again surpassed 2015’s popular collection of racing and road-riding clothing to offer a new selection of motorcycle protection and style. Jonny Towers has relentlessly followed his mission with RST Clothing since 1988 to offer high quality, Beta tested clothing for riders on and off the track. Not only track-tested but track-raced too as RST is worn in the Isle of Man TT and they’re the official safety partner. Here’s a lowdown of their new clothing, from heels to hands…

RST Boots

RST-clothing-Adventure-2-Waterproof-Boot Choosing how your feet are covered on a ride isn’t a simple, snap decision. Budget, comfort, protection, style, colour – all of the details might leave you feeling overwhelmed. So to ease decision fatigue we’ve created a mini motorcycle boot guide for the new RST Boots on the block…

  • RST Adventure 2 Waterproof Boots: The second in the 2-part series of RST Adventure Boots (see right-side image), these are a rugged choice for the adventurer or tourer in you, bursting to leave the familiar for roads unknown. If the weather’s wet the sinaqua waterproof liner keeps your feet dry by preventing water from penetrating through whilst keeping moisture out. Your ankles are supported, as are your feet from uncomfortable twists.
  • RST Roadster Boots: In contrast to the Adventure options, these are riding boots casually disguised as leather ankle boots – solving the problem of needing boots for on and off your bike. The internal ankle reinforcement keeps you secure whilst the heavy duty stitching can withstand heavy use.
  • RST Urban 2 Boots: Sliding further along the scale from intense boots to more casual styles we reach the RST Urban 2 Boots. These are another pair of tough, cowhide leather options with a memory foam ankle for comfort and support. The textured gear change pad strengthens the area where lots of wear and tear occurs if your bike’s geared. All encased in high-top trainer style. The pink and black style offers a brighter, feminine alternative.

RST Trousers

RST-Ladies-Aramid-skinny-jeans-grey-frontIn of the RST Clothing range there are textile, aramid or leather trousers – here’s an example of each…

  • RST R-16 Jeans: The only newbie to the RST Leather trouser selection are these 1.1-1.3mm cowhide leathers. Leather offers abrasion protection, as does the Contour Plus CE knee armour. Double leather at the seat improves their durability and perforated leather panels let your legs breathe.
  • RST Ladies Skinny Aramid Jeans: These jeans have aramid woven across the knees and seat for abrasion protection in these vulnerable areas. With CE knee armour for the same reason, along with absorbing impact in an off. You can choose from black, blue or grey in this skinny jeans style (the grey style are pictured). A men’s style is available too.
  • RST Pro Series Paragon 5 Trousers: In two leg lengths, two colours and a ladies option these touring / adventure trousers offer variety of choice, protection and comfort. The outer is tough and durable in Ballistic / HT Tex whilst the Sinaqua waterproof lining is breathable for comfort and the thermal layer (removable) will keep you snug if you need it. The detachable braces are a nifty additional feature.

RST Jackets

RST Clothing-Roadster-Ladies-Leather-Jacket-BrownDitto with the trousers, RST Jackets come in leather or textile. Well, almost ditto, RST Clothing is yet to have an aramid denim jacket as part of their range. So here’s a few of the ones they do have…

  • RST Roadster Ladies Jacket The sister to the RST Roadster Jacket is this ladies leather option (pictured) in distressed 1.1-1.3mm leather. The CE shoulder and elbow armour offers you protection against impact and abrasion with the option of utilising the back armour pocket too, whilst the snug quilted liner keeps you warm, if you’d like it to – it’s removable.
  • RST Pro Series CPX-C Vented Jacket – Fluo Yellow / Black: As warmer temperatures creep into our lives so does the need for a Summer jacket. The air mesh of the CPX-C Vented Jacket opens pathways for air to travel through and draw warmth away from your skin. The elbow, shoulder and back CE protection keep you safe if you’re involved in an off. The fluo yellow lines to the front brighten it up and improve your visibility to others.

RST Gloves

Created for touring, sports or road riding RST have a selection of technologically developed gloves, a small sample are here…

  • RST Paragon 5 Gloves – Flo Yellow: The RST Paragon 5 Gloves – for touring or adventuring – have a waterproof Hipora® lining to keep your hands dry and a Thinsulate® layer for warmth. The carbon knuckle protectors are tough, durable shields and the pre-curved fingers put less stress on you when you grasp the handlebars. Choose from a rainbow of colours in men’s or ladies cuts.
  • RST Freestyle Gloves These short, sports gloves are low-priced with thoughtful features such as out-stitched seams for comfort and silicone power grip for a steady hold of the handlebars.

How about building an outfit? Most of the RST Clothing collection are created to work in unison. The rear connector zips can attach trousers to jackets or jackets to trousers to keep your lower back protected against the cold and road rash in an accident. You can match two pieces intended to be matched, or mix it up with a combo of say leather and aramid denim, or textile and leather.

If you have any questions or want to see, touch, feel, try on the new collection then our showroom’s open Mon-Tues and Thurs-Sat to offer you assistance. Or call our customer services department on 01623 627 600.
