Superstock 600: Not so super for our Taz this week

An unfortunate crash for Mansfield Local Taz at Superstock 600 Cadwell Park

Superstock 600 Taz Taylor Oulton Park Pace Dayz

Taz Taylor’s sitting in tenth of the Superstock 600 Championship. He’s a fantastic four places above his last season rival, winner of the Moto3, Scott Deroue. Unfortunately the most recent of his races didn’t advance his position.

The beautiful recent bank holiday weekend set the date for the Cadwell Park BSB. Superstock 600 and all the remaining support series raced too. The weather was fantastic for riding and everyone was smiling in the sunshine.

How did the Oulton weekend ride out?

Taz had an unfortunate start to the weekend, when before the racing began, his bike fell injured. His bike needed a complete rebuild, already the pressure was on. Once the team built it back together, he was ready for the race. Unfortunately nerves, or worries, came over Taz and he was out once again in the early stages.

Forever a hardworker, and talented rider – he recently finished in second at Donington Park – this was disappointing for him. He reflected, “It was a weekend from hell! Apart from enjoying the thunderstorm during qualifying one I suffered arm pump so bad that I couldn’t even take off my gloves. I crashed and gave the team a lot of work and then in the race I got forced off track at Charlies, fought my way through to where I started and then launched myself over the mountain again. That’s racing and I will put it behind me and look to the final rounds where I am confident we can be back on the podium. Thanks to the whole team for their mega turn around after the first spill which destroyed the bike.”

The next round at Oulton Park takes place on 9/10/11 September, where we’re behind Taz and share in his confidence that he’ll be back in the top spots. Keep fighting Taz!
