Well, what can I say – how exciting was Round 2 of Moto GP last night?! The first Moto GP race ever to be held in Austin, Texas at Circuit of Americas certainly lived up to expectations and produced another monumental event – Marc Marquez – the youngest EVER rider to finish in the top spot in a Moto GP race and didn’t he deserve it!
At only twenty-years-old, Marquez is certainly showing that he is a serious contender even at this early stage of the championship with two podium finishes in the first two races. And what must be going through team-mate Pedrosa’s mind one can only guess – I suspect even he wasn’t expecting the rookie of the team to be taking all the glory at this early stage of the 2013 season!
Not that we should be surprised though by Marquez’s blistering performance; last years champion of the Moto 2 series has certainly shown his racing pedigree over the past few years and you certainly feel that the his winning ways will continue for this season too!

And what better way to show your support for this exciting young rider than by purchasing the Marquez replica helmet from Shoei – the Shoei X-Spirit 2 Marquez 2 TC1 . Featuring Marquez’s race number 93 on the back of the helmet, along with Marquez’s cartoon style ant logo and a more stylised take on the ant motif covering the top of the lid as well, it really is a fab looking lid.
The Shoei X-Spirit 2 helmet is an ultra safe helmet and you can certainly understand why Marquez and others make Shoei helmets their helmet of choice. With the unique E.Q.R.S (Emergency Quick Release System) fitted as standard to the Shoei X-Spirit II, the cheek pads can be removed safely in the event of an accident whilst the helmet is still on the riders head, allowing the helmet to be therefore removed without causing further injury.
With second-to-none ventilation and aerodynamic styling, the Shoei X-Spirit 2 Marquez 2 TC1 helmet is a superb choice for road riders who want to capture some of the styling from this awesome young racer! And with free gifts worth over £50 included with every Shoei X-Spirit II purchased from here at Two Wheel Centre, there has never been a better time.

So looking forward to the next round of Moto GP in Jerez, Spain with practice sessions on 3rd and 4th May and the race on Sunday 5th May, you can expect the crowds to go wild for the young Spanish rider and I’m sure he will be out to impress even further. However with such a talented bunch of riders and characters as we have this year, although Marquez is definitely one to watch, I’m sure there are a few riders out there more than eager to muscle in on the young guns territory!
P.S. – I also want to say a massive well done to our home-grown riders – Crutchlow, Smith and Laverty who all had a superb round this weekend with Crutchlow managing a fantastic finish in fourth leaving him in an impressive 5th place on the riders standings!
And finally a HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to our local football team Mansfield Town who managed to win automatic promotion from the Blue Square Premier League and back into the football league. After 5 years in the wilderness, they thoroughly deserve it and we are already looking forward to the 2013/14 season – come on the Stags!
