Taz Taylor’s MotoGP Wildcard entry confirmed!
Team Taz is floating back down to earth after hearing the well-deserved news of Taz’s secured placement in the MotoGP. The 27th August is no longer their bank holiday weekend, but the giant Silverstone event that’ll mark a momentous occassion in Taz’s riding career.
The MotoGP weekend is bursting with noise, excitement and celebrations of all things two wheels. It raises money for the charity ‘Riders for health,’ centred on delivering healthcare to rural African communities by bike, and features MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 racing classes. Taz currently races the latter in the HEL Performance Motostar Championship and will be following suit at Silverstone. If you aren’t up to date with the league, please check out his most recent race reports here and here. Taz’s results speak for themselves and as of 19th July, Taz is still top of the league with an impressive sixteen points separating him and his rival Scott Deroue.
This isn’t a one-trip pony kind of success, he’s consistently proven himself with his strong racing performance history.
Holding the wildcard, team Taz are now doing their ‘behind-the-scenes’ bit of collecting up the financial backing to get him there. Taz has sponsors that financially support his racing but the Silverstone GP is an exception. They need to cough up a hefty £3,500 for entry fees and £4,000 to refresh the bike engine.
The family are working hard at accumulating the funds and have set up a gofundme donation account in a bid to raise the £3,500 entry free. If you’d like to help the page is open to anyone and everyone – friends, strangers, if 6 is your lucky number…
Any further support for Taz in the Silverstone MotoGP, or the HEL Performance Motostar Championship, is welcome by following his regularly updated facebook page, or even joining him at Silverstone or one of the championship races to offer cheers in person!
Anyone who’s new to this site, or the name Taz Taylor, please check out his website which chronicles his riding career from when it first began to blossom at the fearless age of six.
We hope Taz raises the extra funds and the result of the weekend looks something like this…
