Draggin Jeans are famous for their stylish, Kevlar® jeans but what about the rest?
We all know the Aussie brand Draggin Jeans, famous for their über cool, über trendy but highly protective Kevlar® jeans range, but how about the biker gear bits in between?
Draggin Jeans have developed a few accessories to help with the less exhilarating, but absolutely necessary, warmth and safe bits of being a biker, the bits that give you confidence your body’s protected whilst on your bike.
How does this differ from the other accessories on the market?
Most sport a higher price tag, but that’s in reward for their unique, high level of Kevlar® material protection integrated into most of their products.
So what protective gear are they offering?
- K-shirt and K-legs: These thermal trousers and top have been designed to be worn under motorcycle clothing to keep the body warm and insulated. Unique to your average thermals these are made with 100% knitted military grade Kevlar® and double Kevlar® at the elbows, forearms and tops of shoulders for additional impact protection.
- K-Gloves:
Motorcycle gloves are an essential bit of biker gear and the K-Gloves aren’t any of your thick padded numbers nor are they similar to regular cotton or silk inner liners. They are created with Kevlar® which has insulating properties but more significantly offers a high level of abrasion and heat protection. They’re designed for wearing under your thicker gloves, to protect your hands in an accident, in addition to being useful for fixing up or tinkering with your bike. Kevlar® is inherently flame-resistant and the gloves can help to protect against temperatures of up to 400°.
- K-Sox: The yellow K-sox, being yellow automatically wins them points, have again been created with Kevlar®, 80% to be exact. The Kevlar® will really protect your feet in the event of an off, and keep your tootsies warm in the winter months.
- Armour: The hip armour will keep your hips padded and protected against abrasion and impact. The pockets are sold separately to the armour as some jeans come with the pockets built-in whereas others will require them to be sewn in before armour can be fitted. They’ve also created their own knee armour to be worn under trousers too!
Aren’t Draggin Jeans usually loved for their style?
They haven’t neglected this in favour of being Mr Safe. One of the other items they’ve added to the range is the Draggin Jeans belt buckle! Of course it offers no protection whatsoever, except from having a less-exciting belt. It’s a silver, custom-designed buckle to be worn on any belt (the belt itself isn’t included) for pure cosmetic reasons, a complete indulgence – but you have to treat yourself every now and again. Or if you’re in the market for a prezzie, it’s perfect for that too!
